Ghent Bio-Economy Valley is organizing a workshop on Flanders and Wallonia in the bio-based economy in cooperation with Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, Greenwin and Valbiom. This workshop enables to learn about the regions' strengths and opportunities in the field of the bio-based economy. During this day a platform is given to industrial partners, academia and stakeholder organizations to inform, network and build new partnerships. Already more than 40 participants registered for this event.

The program includes a session on valorization of genetic engineering, on 2nd generation biomass valorization by Belgian companies, on funding opportunities for SMEs in Horizon2020 and a tour through the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant. You will also learn about the Flemish and Walloon bio-based economy and we will discuss hurdles SMEs encounter to innovate in the bio-based economy.

Participants from outside Belgium are also very welcome to attend as it is the occasion to find Belgian partners for European project proposals. The official language of the workshop will be English.
